MAdCAM-1 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MAdCAM-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAdCAM-1 (H-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAdCAM-1, or mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1, is a crucial immunoglobulin superfamily adhesion molecule that plays a significant role in the immune system by facilitating lymphocyte homing to mucosal tissues. MAdCAM-1 is primarily expressed on the endothelium of mucosal venules, where MAdCAM-1 interacts with lymphocyte homing receptors such as L-Selectin and Integrin α4/β7, guiding lymphocytes into Peyer′s patches and the intestinal lamina propria. This targeted trafficking is essential for maintaining mucosal immunity and ensuring an effective immune response in the gut. Notably, MAdCAM-1 is upregulated in inflammatory conditions, such as autoimmune-mediated liver disease, highlighting MAdCAM-1′s importance in the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory disorders. Anti-MAdCAM-1 antibody (H-3)′s ability to detect MAdCAM-1 across multiple species and applications makes this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses and related diseases.

Can MAdCAM-1 (H-3): sc-365934 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, MAdCAM-1 (H-3): sc-365934 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
