    LSm5 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LSm5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LSm5 (G-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LSm5, also known as YER146W, is a 91 amino acid member of the Sm family of proteins, which are crucial for RNA metabolism. These proteins form heptameric complexes that play a significant role in the assembly and function of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs). LSm5 is localized in the nucleus and is essential for the formation of the U6 snRNP, where LSm5 binds to the 3′ end of U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) and facilitates the formation of the U4/U6 duplex. This interaction is vital for the splicing process, as LSm5 ensures the proper assembly of the spliceosome, which is necessary for the accurate removal of introns from pre-mRNA. LSm5′s ability to mediate these interactions underscores LSm5′s importance in gene expression regulation and RNA processing, making anti-LSm5 antibody (G-5) a valuable tool for researchers studying RNA metabolism and related cellular processes.
