SEE ALSO...

LPL Antibody (5D2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) applications. Anti-LPL antibody (5D2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LPL plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by hydrolyzing triglycerides in very low-density lipoproteins and circulating chylomicrons, which is essential for proper utilization of dietary fats and maintaining energy homeostasis. LPL is primarily located on the endothelial surface of capillaries, particularly in adipose tissue and muscle, where LPL facilitates fatty acid uptake into cells for energy production or storage. This localization ensures efficient interaction with lipoproteins in the bloodstream, thereby regulating lipid levels and preventing disorders such as hypertriglyceridemia. Defects in LPL can lead to serious metabolic conditions, including chylomicronemia syndrome, highlighting LPL′s importance in cardiovascular health and metabolic regulation.

Do you know which epitope on mouse LPL the 5D2 antibody (sc-73646) binds to? I need an Ab directed to the C-terminus.

Asked by: Patric
Thank you for your question. Please contact your local distributor or technical service for further assistance.

Is this antibody targeted at C-terminal or N- Terminal of LPL ?

Asked by: Danny0115
Thank you for your question. The epitope region of LPL Antibody (5D2): sc-73646 has not yet been determined. There is no information on whether the antibody recognizes its target protein's C- or N-terminus. If you are looking for an antibody that binds N-terminally, check out LPL Antibody (F-1): sc-373759. This antibody recognizes amino acids 28-80 of LPL.

Are there any issues with using sc-73646: LPL (5D2) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-73646 conjugates.
