LPAAT-θ Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects LPAAT-θ in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LPAAT-θ Antibody (G-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LPAAT-θ, or lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase theta, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of lysophosphatidic acid to phosphatidic acid, a key intermediate in the biosynthesis of various lipids. This enzymatic activity maintains cellular lipid homeostasis and signaling pathways, which drive numerous physiological processes, including cell proliferation, migration, and survival. LPAAT-θ predominantly resides in the endoplasmic reticulum, expressing across various tissues, with lower levels in the brain, kidney, liver, pancreas, placenta, prostate, and thymus. LPAAT-θ overexpression has been linked to the activation of signaling pathways that promote tumor progression, suggesting a significant role in cancer biology.

What blocking solution should I use with LPAAT-θ (G-3): sc-514164 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
