LMP7 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects LMP7 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LMP7 is a crucial component of the proteasome, a multi-catalytic proteinase complex that plays a vital role in the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, thereby regulating various cellular processes including the cell cycle, apoptosis, and antigen presentation. The proteasome is located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, where LMP7 maintains cellular homeostasis by removing damaged or misfolded proteins. LMP7, along with LMP2, is particularly important for the MHC class I antigen-processing pathway, as LMP7 enhances the generation of peptides that are presented to cytotoxic T cells, thus facilitating immune responses. Upon stimulation with interferon-gamma, LMP7 is expressed in two forms, LMP7A and LMP7B, which are produced from precursor proteins and are essential for the proteasome′s functionality. LMP7′s ability to interact with various substrates and involvement in the immune response underscore LMP7′s significance in both normal physiology and disease states, making anti-LMP7 antibody (D-12) an invaluable tool for researchers studying proteasome function and immune regulation.
