LMP2 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LMP2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LMP2 (G-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LMP2 plays a crucial role in the proteasome, a multicatalytic proteinase complex essential for protein degradation and regulation within the cell. Located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, the proteasome is composed of at least 15 distinct subunits that assemble into a highly ordered, ring-shaped structure, facilitating the ATP/Ubiquitin-dependent proteolytic pathway. LMP2, along with LMP7, is integral to the MHC class I antigen-processing pathway, particularly in the activation of cytotoxic T cells upon stimulation with interferon-gamma. Expression of LMP2 is regulated through alternative splicing, resulting in two forms, LMP2.l and LMP2.s, which are produced in lymphoblastoid cell lines and fibroblasts following interferon-gamma stimulation.
