SEE ALSO...

LGP2 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects LGP2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LGP2 (C-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LGP2, also known as probable ATP-dependent RNA helicase DHX58, is a 678 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the innate immune response to viral infections. Specifically, LGP2 functions as a negative regulator of host defenses by binding to double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) generated during viral replication, which is essential for the immune system′s ability to detect and respond to viral threats. By interacting with RIG-I, a key signaling protein in the immune response against viruses such as hepatitis C virus (HCV), LGP2 prevents RIG-I multimerization, thereby inhibiting RIG-I-mediated signaling pathways that would otherwise activate antiviral responses. This regulatory mechanism is vital for maintaining a balanced immune response, as excessive activation can lead to tissue damage and autoimmune disorders. Localized in the cytoplasm, LGP2 contains one helicase ATP-binding domain and one helicase C-terminal domain, which are critical for its function in RNA unwinding and immune modulation.

What blocking solution should I use with LGP2 (C-9): sc-373827 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
