LDH-C Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects LDH-C of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LDH-C (D-9) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The lactate dehydrogenase family, including LDH-C, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of L-lactate and NAD to pyruvate and NADH, marking the final step of anaerobic glycolysis. LDH-C is primarily expressed in testis and sperm, distinguishing LDH-C from LDH-A and LDH-B, which are predominantly found in muscle and heart tissues, respectively. Such specific localization underscores LDH-C′s role as a marker for germ cell tumors, making LDH-C an important target in cancer research and diagnostics. The genes encoding human LDH-A and LDH-C are located on chromosome 11, while the human LDH-B gene is found on chromosome 12, and any deficiency in the LDH-A gene has been associated with exertional myoglobinuria, highlighting the clinical significance of these enzymes in metabolic disorders.
