LDH-B Antibody (431.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the LDH-B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LDH-B antibody (431.1) is available as the non-conjugated format. The lactate dehydrogenase B (LDH-B) protein plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism, specifically in the conversion of L-lactate to pyruvate, which is essential for energy production during anaerobic conditions. This enzymatic activity is vital for tissues that rely on anaerobic glycolysis, such as cardiac muscle, where LDH-B is predominantly expressed. Proper functioning of LDH-B is important not only for energy metabolism but also for maintaining the balance of lactate and pyruvate in the body, which can influence various physiological processes and metabolic pathways. Alterations in LDH-B levels have been associated with various diseases, including heart conditions and certain cancers, making LDH-B a significant biomarker for clinical diagnostics. The lactate dehydrogenase family consists of three members—LDH-A, LDH-B, and LDH-C—each exhibiting distinct tissue distribution patterns, with LDH-B being particularly important in the heart. The genes encoding human LDH-A and LDH-C are located on chromosome 11, while the human LDH-B gene is mapped to chromosome 12, highlighting the genetic basis for its expression and function.

Will this antibody (LDH-B, 431.1, sc-100775) detect LDH-B in bovine heart extracts using WB analysis Thanks.?

Asked by: DrM1
Thank you for your question. This antibody hasn’t been tested in bovine samples. The exact epitope recognized by this mouse monoclonal antibody has not yet been determined, so we can not perform sequence analysis at this time to predict potential cross reactivity with that species.

Is LDH-B (431.1): sc-100775 available directly conjugated to HRP?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. All requests for directly conjugated versions of this antibody should be directed to our Special Orders team at specialorders@scbt.com Alternatively, consider using LDH (H-10): sc-133123, which is available conjugated to agarose, HRP, FITC, PE, and more. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very specific and and the only mAb for mouseThis antibody is the only monoclonal on the market that can be used to probe mouse samples (only polyclonals available from other vendors), at least according to this reviewer's research. I found it very specific and that it can be diluted up to 1:1000, which is impressive given that this antibody comes pretty diluted already (100µg in 1 mL). I used SantaCruz mouse binding protein HRP (sc-516102) and 5% milk for blocking; incubation - 4oC overnight.
