    SEE ALSO...

Latrophilin-1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Latrophilin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Latrophilin-1 (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Latrophilin-1 plays a crucial role in synaptic transmission as a receptor for α-latrotoxin, a potent neurotoxin derived from black widow spider venom. Upon binding with α-latrotoxin, anti-Latrophilin-1 antibody (A-4) initiates synaptic vesicle exocytosis through both calcium-dependent and independent pathways, leading to synaptic vesicle depletion, which is vital for neurotransmitter release and neuronal communication. Latrophilin-1 is predominantly expressed in brain and endocrine cells, highlighting its importance in neurobiology and endocrine signaling. The Latrophilin family, including Latrophilin-2 and Latrophilin-3, exhibits distinct tissue distribution and functions, with Latrophilin-1 being the most extensively studied member, underscoring its significance in both physiological and pathological processes.
