LASS4 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LASS4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LASS4 (D-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The LASS (longevity assurance homolog) family, which includes six characterized members (LASS1, LASS2, LASS3, LASS4, LASS5, and LASS6), plays a crucial role in sphingolipid synthesis, a process vital for cellular signaling and membrane integrity. LASS4, a 394 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum, enhances the levels of long-chain ceramides, such as C22:0- and C24:0-ceramides. These ceramides are essential for maintaining cellular health, and in the context of neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL) or Batten disease, where cells are deficient in CLN9, LASS4 can elevate ceramide levels, thereby partially restoring growth and apoptosis processes.
