LASS2 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LASS2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LASS2 (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LASS2 protein, a member of the longevity assurance homolog family, plays a crucial role in sphingolipid synthesis, which is essential for maintaining cellular membrane integrity and signaling. This 380 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein is predominantly expressed in the kidney, liver, brain, heart, placenta, and lung, where LASS2 contributes to the regulation of cell growth and apoptosis. Notably, LASS2 suppresses the growth of cancer cells, and LASS2 overproduction leads to increased levels of long-chain ceramides, such as C22:0- and C24:0-ceramides, which are implicated in various cellular processes. The N-terminal asparagine residue of LASS2 serves as a glycosylation site on the luminal side of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, a modification that can influence protein stability and function. Additionally, LASS2 interacts with several membrane-associated receptors and transporters, including ASGPR1, ASGPR2, and OCT1, highlighting LASS2′s importance in cellular communication and metabolic regulation.
