LAMP-2 Antibody (H4B4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against adherent spleen cells of human origin, with reactivity specific to human proteins. LAMP-2 monoclonal antibody (H4B4) is validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). LAMP-2, also known as CD107B or lysosome-associated membrane protein 2, is a glycosylated type I transmembrane protein localized to the lysosomal membrane. LAMP-2 plays a critical role in maintaining lysosomal integrity and acidity, protecting the lysosomal membrane from autodigestion, and facilitating autophagy by mediating the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes. LAMP-2 is synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum, sorted at the trans-Golgi network, and trafficked to lysosomes via a pathway distinct from clathrin-coated vesicles. LAMP-2 localization to the lysosome is essential for function in cellular homeostasis and the degradation of macromolecules. Dysregulation of LAMP-2 expression or function is associated with lysosomal storage disorders, such as Danon disease, and altered expression has been implicated in cancer progression and metastasis.
