Lambda 5 Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Lambda 5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Lambda 5 (A-1) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Lambda 5 protein, also known as Immunoglobulin lambda-like polypeptide 1 or CD179b antigen, plays a pivotal role in forming surrogate light chain of pre-B cell receptor complex, essential for B cell development. Lambda 5 (A-1) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein crucial for ensuring heavy chain of immunoglobulins can successfully pair with light chains, facilitating quality control mechanism that tests heavy chain functionality. Lambda 5 protein is predominantly expressed in liver, pre-B lymphocytes, and bone marrow, key sites for B cell precursor development. Expression of Lambda 5 protein begins in pro-B cells, continues through pre-B cell stage, and ceases at immature B cell stage, highlighting importance in early B cell maturation. Regulation of Lambda 5 protein expression ensures pre-B cell receptor formation is tightly controlled, allowing proper B cell development and function in immune response.
