L3MBTL Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects L3MBTL of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). L3MBTL (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. L3MBTL is a crucial member of the Polycomb group of proteins, which play a significant role as transcriptional repressors within large protein complexes, thereby influencing gene expression and cellular differentiation. Structurally, L3MBTL features three MBT repeats, each consisting of approximately 100 residues, along with a C-terminal alpha-helical domain that resides within a cavity lined by aromatic amino acids. This unique structure is essential for recognizing and binding to methylated lysine residues on histones, which is vital for the regulation of gene silencing. L3MBTL is predominantly localized in the nucleus during interphase and associates with condensed chromosomes during mitosis, highlighting its importance in maintaining genomic stability. Notably, the human L3MBTL gene is located in a chromosomal region frequently deleted in myeloid malignancies, suggesting its potential role as a tumor suppressor in certain types of leukemia.
