KVβ.2 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KVβ.2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KVβ.2 antibody (A-3) is available as non-conjugated. KVβ.2 protein, also known as KCNAB2, plays a crucial role as an auxiliary subunit of voltage-gated potassium channels, which are essential for regulating neuronal excitability and muscle contraction. By modulating gating properties of pore-forming alpha subunits, KVβ.2 influences kinetics of channel activation and inactivation, thereby affecting repolarization phase of action potentials. This modulation is vital for maintaining proper electrical activity of excitable cells, and dysregulation of KV channels has been implicated in various neurological disorders and cardiac arrhythmias. KV gene family, which includes over 30 genes, encodes these subunits, and specific interactions between KVβ.2 and alpha subunits are critical for assembly and functional expression of these channels. Understanding KVβ.2′s role in channel dynamics not only sheds light on fundamental cellular processes but also opens avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting channelopathies.
