Datasheets
  • KVβ.2 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ KVβ.2 antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 28-52 near the N-terminus of KVβ.2 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of KVβ.2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and canine, bovine and porcine
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for KVβ.2 Antibody (A-3) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with KVβ.2 Antibody (A-3) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

KVβ.2 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KVβ.2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KVβ.2 antibody (A-3) is available as non-conjugated. KVβ.2 protein, also known as KCNAB2, plays a crucial role as an auxiliary subunit of voltage-gated potassium channels, which are essential for regulating neuronal excitability and muscle contraction. By modulating gating properties of pore-forming alpha subunits, KVβ.2 influences kinetics of channel activation and inactivation, thereby affecting repolarization phase of action potentials. This modulation is vital for maintaining proper electrical activity of excitable cells, and dysregulation of KV channels has been implicated in various neurological disorders and cardiac arrhythmias. KV gene family, which includes over 30 genes, encodes these subunits, and specific interactions between KVβ.2 and alpha subunits are critical for assembly and functional expression of these channels. Understanding KVβ.2′s role in channel dynamics not only sheds light on fundamental cellular processes but also opens avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting channelopathies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393014 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
