KIN17 Antibody (K58) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects KIN17 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). KIN17 (K58) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KIN17 plays a crucial role in the cellular response to DNA damage, specifically binding to bent or curved double-stranded DNA fragments that are often found at illegitimate recombination sites, which is vital for maintaining genomic stability. KIN17 is ubiquitously expressed, with the highest levels found in muscle, heart, and testis tissues, and KIN17 expression notably increases in response to low doses of ionizing radiation in mammalian cells. Additionally, KIN17 expression rises during hyperproliferative phases in keratinocytes and is further enhanced by UVC irradiation, contingent upon the presence of functional XPA and XPC proteins. Antisense studies have demonstrated that a reduction in KIN17 correlates with decreased cell proliferation and an accumulation of cells in early and mid-S phase, highlighting KIN17′s importance in cell cycle regulation. Furthermore, in SV40-transformed fibroblasts, KIN17 is overexpressed and interacts with the Large T antigen, which subsequently reduces T-antigen-dependent DNA replication. The gene encoding human KIN17 is located on chromosome 10p14, underscoring KIN17′s significance in both normal cellular function and the response to DNA damage.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-32769 X be used instead of the standard form sc-32769?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
