KBP Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects KBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KBP Antibody (H-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KBP protein, also known as KIF1-binding protein or KIAA1279, is a crucial 621 amino acid mitochondrial protein predominantly expressed in heart, brain, ovary, testis, and spinal cord, with lower expression levels in most adult tissues. KBP plays a vital role in mitochondrial transport by modulating KIF1B motor activity, which is essential for proper distribution of mitochondria within cells. Additionally, KBP is necessary for axonal microtubule organization and maintenance of axonal growth during development of both peripheral and central nervous systems. KBP gene is located on human chromosome 10q21.3 and mouse chromosome 10 B4, and mutations in KBP gene have been associated with Goldberg-Shprintzen megacolon syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by microcephaly, mental retardation, and facial dysmorphism.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390449 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
