Jun B Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Jun B of mouse, rat, and human origin through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Jun B (C-11) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Jun B plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and is a key component of the AP-1 transcriptional complex, which is essential for various cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Jun B can form homodimers or heterodimers with c-Fos and other members of the Fos gene family, allowing binding to specific DNA sequences and modulation of target gene transcription. Jun B interaction with these proteins and regulation of transcription is vital for cellular responses to growth factors and stress signals, making Jun B an important player in oncogenic processes and cellular signaling pathways.

Can you recommend a negative control to use with Jun B Antibody (C-11): sc-8051?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend using the blocking peptide sc-8051 P as a negative control. Antibody binding to antigen may be blocked/competed by pre-absorption with the blocking peptide. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must use Santa Cruz secondary AbWe used this antibody several years ago. We requested a new sample and tested on HEK-293 cell lysates using a 1:500 dilution. We used Jackson Immuno Research anti-mouse IgG AF-680 secondary and imaged on the Licor Odyssey imager. No signal was detected. We requested a new sample along with the Santa Cruz secondary Ab (AF-680) that is specific for m-IgG Kappa Light Chain. It showed a nice band just under the 37 kD marker. Generally we have found that although whole IgG abs should still recognize these new mouse monoclonals, we get much better signal with the m-IgG Kappa Light Chain secondaries for most sample abs we have tested in both IHC and WB.
