SEE ALSO...

JNK1 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect JNK1, also known as MAPK8 or SAPK1, across various applications including WB, IP, IF, and IHCP. JNK1 mouse monoclonal antibody (F-3) is raised against amino acids 1-384 of the full-length human JNK1 protein, ensuring reliable recognition of all JNK1 p46 and p54 isoforms in mouse, rat, and human samples. JNK1 is a crucial member of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) family within the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway, playing a central role in regulating cellular responses to stress by phosphorylating and activating the transcription factor c-Jun, which is essential for cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The function of JNK1 is vital for immune responses, including the differentiation of CD4+ T cells into TH1 and TH2 effector cells, and JNK1 forms protein complexes with molecules like c-Jun and Bcl-3 to modulate apoptotic pathways. Post-translational modifications of JNK1, particularly phosphorylation, are critical for activation and subsequent signaling activities, which are necessary for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental stressors. Dysregulation of JNK1 has been implicated in various cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer, where JNK1 contributes to tumor development through mechanisms like altered histone methylation and other epigenetic modifications. JNK1 interacts with other signaling proteins such as MEKK1 and p38, further influencing apoptosis and cell survival. The human JNK1 gene is located on chromosome 10q11.22 and shares significant homology with JNK2, highlighting JNK1′s importance in both normal physiological functions and oncogenic processes.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with JNK1 Antibody (F-3): sc-1648 for Western blot?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend HeLa (sc-2200), RAW 264.7 (sc-2211), A-431 (sc-2201) or Jurkat (sc-2204) whole cell lysates to use as positive controls as we have Western blot data showing specific detection of JNK1 in these cell lines.
