JMJD2B Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects JMJD2B of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-JMJD2B antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. JMJD2B, also known as JmjC domain-containing histone demethylation protein 3A, is a 1,064 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene JMJD2B. JMJD2B belongs to the JMJD2B histone demethylase family and features a unique structural composition that includes one JmjC domain, one JmjN domain, two PHD-type zinc fingers, and two Tudor domains. Tudor domains recognize and bind to methylated histones, facilitating the demethylation process. JMJD2B specifically demethylates lysine 9 residues of histone H3, which is crucial for regulating gene expression and maintaining the histone code. Unlike other demethylases, JMJD2B does not target histone H3 lysine 4, H3 lysine 27, H3 lysine 36, or H4 lysine 20, and primarily acts on trimethylated H3 lysine 9, albeit with less efficiency compared to JMJD2A, JMJD2C, and JMJD2D. JMJD2B demethylation activity generates formaldehyde and succinate, contributing to cellular metabolism and epigenetic regulation. As a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein, JMJD2B plays a vital role in chromatin remodeling and gene regulation, making JMJD2B an important target for research in epigenetics and cancer biology.
