SEE ALSO...

ITF Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ITF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ITF Antibody (B-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The intestinal trefoil factor (ITF) plays a crucial role in mucosal healing, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract, where epithelial cells secrete ITF in response to injury. ITF is characterized by a unique trefoil structure, consisting of three intrachain disulfide bonds that form a stable P-domain, allowing ITF to resist proteolytic degradation. ITF presence in the epithelial mucosal layer of the small intestine and colon, as well as in the brain and pituitary, underscores ITF importance in maintaining mucosal surface integrity and facilitating repair processes. ITF upregulation occurs in response to epithelial damage and various pathological conditions, including metaplasia and neoplasia, highlighting ITF potential as a biomarker for gastrointestinal health. ITF genes, along with pancreatic trefoil factor 2 and pS2, cluster on human chromosome 21q22.3, indicating a shared evolutionary origin and functional relationship among these trefoil factors.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398651 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
