SEE ALSO...

IRF-7 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IRF-7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IRF-7 antibody (F-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF-7) plays a crucial role in immune response by regulating type I interferons, which are vital for antiviral defense. Located primarily in the nucleus, IRF-7 becomes activated in response to viral infections and is essential for transcriptional activation of interferon-α and interferon-β genes. This nuclear localization enables IRF-7 to quickly respond to viral signals and initiate immune response, enhancing host′s ability to combat infections. IRF-7 interacts with other proteins in interferon signaling pathway, including IRF-3, which further underscores IRF-7′s importance in regulating immune responses. Formation of protein complexes by IRF-7 highlights a critical role in fine-tuning immune response, making IRF-7 an important target for research in immunology and virology.

I use this antibody to detect IRF7 in mouse BMDCs. But I do not get bands at the predicted size (>50kDa) but a strong band at ~30kDa and a clear band at ~47kDa (clearly smaller than the 50kDa marker band). Is this IRF7 or something else?

I would like to know if it antibody works very well to detect IRF7 in mouse astrocytes. It is possible to receive a free sample to test it? Thanks a lot,

Asked by: Paola13
Thank you for your question. We have not specifically tested this antibody in astrocytes, however the antibody is confirmed to be reactive with mouse IRF-7. Please contact our Technical Service Department for more information on how to receive a free 10 ug sample of this monoclonal antibody.

What is the recommended secondary reagent to use with IRF-7 (F-1): sc-74471 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. This primary antibody has a kappa light chain, so for Western blotting we would recommend m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
