Involucrin Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects involucrin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Involucrin plays a crucial role in the formation of the keratinocyte cornified envelope, a vital structure that provides a barrier to protect underlying tissues from environmental damage. Involucrin is initially located in the cytosol of keratinocytes and is subsequently cross-linked to membrane proteins by transglutaminase during terminal differentiation.
