Integrin αV/β5 Antibody (P1F76) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against human UCLA P3 cells, designed for the detection of Integrin αV and Integrin β5 proteins of mouse, rat, and human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP) and immunofluorescence (IF). Integrin αV/β5, also known as ITGAV/ITGB5 respectively, is a heterodimeric transmembrane receptor composed of the αV (CD51) and β5 (ITGB5) subunits, which are part of the integrin family involved in cell adhesion and signaling. Located primarily on the cell surface within the plasma membrane, Integrin αV/β5 plays a crucial role in mediating interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM) by binding to ligands such as vitronectin and fibronectin, essential for processes like cell migration, differentiation, growth, and apoptosis. The localization of Integrin αV/β5 at the cell membrane is significant because this interaction facilitates signal transmission from the ECM to the intracellular environment, influencing cytoskeletal organization and activating various signaling pathways. Anti-Integrin αV/β5 antibody (P1F76) provides a valuable tool for studying the functions and regulatory mechanisms of Integrin αV/β5 in various physiological and pathological contexts.

Which Integrin αV/β5/ITGB5/CD51 antibody do you recommend for use in western blotting?

Thank you for your question. Anti-Integrin αV/ITGAV/CD51 Antibody (P2W7): sc-9969 and Anti-Integrin αV/ITGAV/CD51 Antibody (H-2): sc-376156 are both recommended for use in western blot. Please note that the former is only suitable for human samples.

What is the difference between sc-13588 and sc-13588 L? Same price but the amount is 10 times different. Thank you! Yuki

Thank you for your question. The total amount of antibody is the same for both products, but sc-13588 L is provided as 200 µg in 0.1 ml PBS only rather than 200 µg in 1 ml PBS with gelatin and sodium azide.

Does this Ab (sc-13588) recognize the extracellular domains of both alphaV and beta5? Could you please provide the amino acid sequence of the imunogens?

Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal antibody is not raised against a known amino acid sequence; it is raised against human UCLA P3 cells. The exact epitope recognized by this mouse monoclonal antibody has not yet been determined. We also do not know whether or not this antibody recognizes an epitope that is extracellular or not.

I bought the L form of this antibody, sc-13588 L for blocking (neutralization). How long can I store this at in the refridgerator?

The L form of the antibody should be stored at -20°C. Once thawed, we recommend using as soon as possible, although it is usually stable for up to 2 weeks at 4 degrees.
