INSL5 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects INSL5 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). INSL5 (G-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. INSL5, or Insulin-like peptide INSL5, is a 135 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene INSL5, belonging to the insulin gene superfamily, which plays a crucial role in modulating metabolism, cell growth, and tissue-specific functions. This protein is characterized by a unique structure, which includes a signal peptide, a B chain, a connecting C chain, and an A chain, forming a heterodimer linked by two disulfide bonds. INSL5′s structural integrity is vital for biological activity, allowing for proper receptor binding and signaling, influencing processes such as gut contractility and thymic development. INSL5 exhibits predominant expression in the rectum and intermediate expression in the uterus and both ascending and descending colon, highlighting importance in gastrointestinal physiology. With a sequence homology of 40% to human RLN1 and 59% to mouse Insl5, INSL5 serves as a key player in the relaxin-like factors, which are primarily secreted proteins involved in various physiological processes.
