INSL5 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects INSL5 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). INSL5 (A-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. INSL5, also known as Insulin-like peptide INSL5 or Relaxin/Insulin-like protein, consists of 135 amino acids and is encoded by the human gene INSL5. INSL5 is a member of the insulin gene superfamily, which plays crucial roles in regulating metabolism, cell growth, and tissue-specific functions. INSL5 is primarily secreted and is predominantly expressed in the rectum, with intermediate expression levels in the uterus and both ascending and descending colon, highlighting potential involvement in gut contractility and thymic development. INSL5′s structure includes a heterodimer formation consisting of a B chain and an A chain linked by two disulfide bonds, along with a dibasic cleavage site between the B and C chains, which is essential for biological activity. INSL5 shares significant sequence homology with other members of the relaxin-like factor family, such as human RLN1 and mouse Insl5, indicating evolutionary conservation and functional importance.
