ING5 Antibody (36.85) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human ING5 by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ING5 antibody (36.85) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The inhibitor of growth protein (ING) family, which includes ING5, plays a crucial role in tumor suppression by modulating transcriptional outputs of key signaling pathways, thereby regulating cell proliferation. ING5, also known as p28ING5, is a 240 amino acid nuclear protein characterized by a single PHD-type zinc finger, a structural motif that is integral to proteins involved in chromatin remodeling. This unique structure allows ING5 to participate in chromatin acetylation, which is essential for regulating DNA replication and functioning as a transcriptional coactivator. ING5 interacts with the tumor suppressor protein p53, enhancing p53′s ability to inhibit cell growth and induce apoptosis, making ING5 a significant player in cancer biology. The gene encoding ING5 is located on human chromosome 2 and produces two isoforms through alternative splicing, highlighting the complexity and regulatory potential of ING5 in cellular processes.
