INDOL1 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects INDOL1 protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-INDOL1 antibody (C-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. INDOL1, also known as indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-like protein 1 or IDO2, plays a crucial role in the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan metabolism, catalyzing the first step in this pathway. This pathway leads to the production of several metabolites involved in various physiological and pathological processes, including immune response modulation. INDOL1 is expressed in a variety of tissues such as the liver, small intestine, spleen, placenta, thymus, lung, brain, kidney, colon, and dendritic cells, highlighting its importance in diverse biological functions. Notably, INDOL1 is selectively inhibited by D-1MT (1-methyl-d-tryptophan), which also inhibits IDO, suggesting a shared role in immunomodulation, particularly in the context of tumor immunity where IDO expression can suppress T cell responses. Additionally, variations in the human INDOL1 gene, specifically two single nucleotide polymorphisms, have been identified that abolish its enzymatic function, further emphasizing INDOL1′s relevance in immunological research and potential therapeutic applications.
