SEE ALSO...

IMPA1 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IMPA1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IMPA1 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IMPA1 protein, also known as Myo-inositol monophosphatase 1, plays a crucial role in the procurement of inositol, which is essential for the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol and polyphosphoinositides, key components in cellular signaling pathways. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, IMPA1 exists as a homodimer and serves as the principal enzyme in the phosphatidylinositol signaling pathway, making IMPA1 a significant pharmacological target for lithium action in the brain. The inhibition of inositol monophosphatase hydrolysis is believed to underlie the anti-manic and anti-depressant effects of lithium, highlighting IMPA1′s importance in mood regulation. Studies have shown that variations in the 277 codon of the IMPA1 gene are not present in manic-depressive patients, suggesting that polymorphisms or mutations in the noncoding regions of this gene may influence the lithium response in psychiatric conditions.

Can IMPA1 (H-7): sc-374234 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, IMPA1 (H-7): sc-374234 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
