IL-6Rα Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IL-6R alpha protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-6Rα (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IL-6R alpha protein plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the effects of interleukin-6 (IL-6), a cytokine involved in inflammation and immune response. Upon binding of IL-6 to IL-6R alpha, a signaling complex forms with gp130, which is essential for IL-6 signal transduction. This interaction activates intracellular signaling pathways that influence cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation, highlighting IL-6R alpha′s importance in various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases and cancers. Additionally, soluble IL-6R alpha, generated through proteolytic cleavage, can enhance IL-6 signaling in a paracrine manner, further emphasizing IL-6R alpha′s significance in modulating immune responses.
