SEE ALSO...

IgA Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IgA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IgA (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Immunoglobulin A (IgA) plays a crucial role in the mucosal immune system, primarily functioning to protect mucosal surfaces from pathogens. IgA is predominantly produced by B cells located in gut-associated lymphoid tissues, with daily production surpassing that of other immunoglobulins. The structure of IgA typically exists as dimers or polymers, formed by the association of two monomeric units linked by a joining (J) chain. This dimeric or polymeric form is essential for function, allowing IgA to effectively bind to the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR), facilitating transport across epithelial cells to mucosal surfaces where IgA can neutralize pathogens and prevent their entry into the body. The heavy chain of IgA is an α-chain, while the light chains can be either κ- or λ- chains, contributing to the diversity and specificity of the immune response.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-373823 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
