raised against full length recombinant IFN-α1/13 of human origin
IFN-alpha Antibody (F-7) is recommended for detection of IFN-α1 and IFN-α13 of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
Anti-IFN-alpha Antibody (F-7) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems

IFN-α Antibody (F-7) is a high quality monoclonal IFN-alpha antibody (also designated IFN-α antibody) suitable for the detection of the IFN-alpha protein of human origin. IFN-α Antibody (F-7) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-IFN-alpha antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-IFN-alpha antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The genes encoding type I interferons (IFNs), which include 14 IFN-α genes, 1 IFN-β gene, 1 IFN-w (also known as IFN-α II1) gene, and a number of IFN-w pseudogenes, are clustered on human chromosome 9. Interferon-α and -β are cytokines that are widely known to induce potent antiviral activity. They exert a variety of other biological effects, including antitumor and immunomodulatory activities and are increasingly used clinically to treat a range of malignancies, myelodysplasias and autoimmune diseases. IFN-w is antigenically different from human IFN-α, IFN-β or IFN-γ, but is a component of natural mixtures of IFN species produced by virus-induced leukocytes or Burkitt′s lymphoma cells. The type I interferon receptor (IFN-αR) interacts with IFN-α, IFN-β and IFN-w, and seems to be a multisubunit receptor.

I read the first review that the researcher use this product for fixed frozen mouse tissues for IF; thus, is it possible use this antibody for western-blot of mouse IFN alpha?
Asked by: jessie011
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody in mouse samples, and so it is not recommended for detection in mouse at this time. The exact epitope recognized by this monoclonal antibody has not yet been determined. The full-length human antigen sequence appears to share approximately 65% sequence identity with some of IFN alpha proteins in mouse. It may cross-react, or it may not, but this would have to be determined experimentally.

I am using IFN-α (F-7): sc-373757 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?
Asked by: jenni
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here:

very goodI have just use this antibody in IFN-α for human hippocampal neurons, use PFA fixed.
It works very nice. Beautiful surface staining of neurites.IF dilution 1:200 dilution,
The result is very good.
