IDO Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IDO in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IDO antibody (H-11) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) plays a crucial role in immune regulation by catalyzing the degradation of the essential amino acid L-tryptophan into N-formylkynurenine, a process that is particularly important in the context of immune tolerance and response. IDO is induced by interferon-gamma and modulates immunological responses, thereby protecting allogeneic concepti from maternal immune rejection. IDO activity can inhibit T cell proliferation, as demonstrated in studies where IDO-transfected cells co-cultured with T cells resulted in reduced T cell activity. Additionally, IDO presence in dendritic cells suppresses T cell responses, highlighting significance in maintaining immune homeostasis. The gene encoding human IDO is located on chromosome 8p12-p11, and understanding IDO function and interactions is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at manipulating immune responses, particularly in the context of cancer and transplantation.

Is IDO (H-11): sc-137012 available directly conjugated to HRP?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. All requests for directly conjugated versions of this antibody should be directed to our Special Orders team at specialorders@scbt.com Alternatively, consider using IDO (mIDO-48): sc-53978, which is available conjugated to agarose, HRP, FITC, PE, and more. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor performanceOur lab received a free sample of this antibody. Multiple attempts to look at IDO levels in human primary macrophages failed. Using an alternate antibody from another source revealed strong expression of IDO with the same samples.
