SEE ALSO...

IDE Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IDE protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IDE antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Insulin degrading enzyme (IDE) plays a crucial role in regulating insulin levels by initiating insulin cleavage, which is vital for maintaining glucose homeostasis. Beyond insulin metabolism, IDE is also involved in amyloid-β peptide degradation, linking IDE to age-related neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer′s disease. IDE gene, located on chromosome 10q23.3, is essential for proper balance of both glucose and amyloid peptide levels in the brain; alterations in IDE expression can lead to significant changes in these processes. Notably, IDE inhibitor bacitracin has been shown to impede degradation of both insulin and amylin, suggesting a shared proteolytic pathway. Conformational dependence of IDE′s proteolytic function indicates potential avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting diabetes, Alzheimer′s disease, and other conditions associated with dysregulation of IDE substrate proteolysis.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393887 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
