iASPP Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects iASPP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). iASPP (A-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. iASPP, a member of the apoptosis-stimulating protein of p53 (ASPP) family, plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis through interaction with p53 tumor suppressor protein. While ASPP1 and ASPP2 enhance p53′s ability to activate pro-apoptotic genes, iASPP serves as a negative regulator, inhibiting p53′s pro-apoptotic functions. This inhibitory action is particularly significant as iASPP is the most evolutionarily conserved member of the ASPP family, and expression is notably upregulated in human breast carcinomas that retain wildtype p53. iASPP overexpression has been implicated in leukemogenesis and acute leukemia progression, making iASPP a potential target for therapeutic strategies aimed at tumors expressing wildtype p53. By inhibiting iASPP, researchers may find new avenues for cancer treatment, highlighting the importance of understanding regulatory mechanisms in apoptosis.
