HVEM Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HVEM protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HVEM (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HVEM protein, also known as herpes virus entry mediator A, TR2, ATAR, HVEA, LIGHTR, or TNFRSF14, is a 283 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein predominantly expressed in lung, spleen, and thymus. As a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, HVEM plays a crucial role in herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 entry into T lymphocytes by acting as a receptor for viral envelope glycoprotein D. Additionally, HVEM interacts with two important cellular ligands: secreted lymphotoxin and LIGHT, which is produced by activated T-cells and implicated in inducing apoptosis and inhibiting tumor formation. HVEM′s structural composition, including three TNFR-Cys repeats, is vital for mediating immune responses and viral pathogenesis. HVEM′s gene is located on human chromosome 1, a region spanning 260 million base pairs and containing over 3,000 genes, representing nearly 8% of human genome.
