HuR Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HuR in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HuR, also known as HuA, is a member of the Elav-like family of RNA-binding proteins and plays a crucial role in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. HuR (G-8) antibody targets a protein predominantly located in the nucleus, where HuR binds to AU-rich elements in the 3′-untranslated regions of target mRNAs, thereby stabilizing these transcripts and preventing their degradation. The ability of HuR to shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm is vital, as this movement allows for dynamic regulation of mRNA stability and translation in response to cellular signals. This function is particularly important in cellular stress and tumorigenesis, as HuR is often overexpressed in various cancers, contributing to the dysregulation of genes involved in cell proliferation and survival. Anti-HuR antibody (G-8) enables researchers to gain insights into the regulatory mechanisms of mRNA stability and the role of HuR in both normal physiology and disease states.
