HSP 40-4 Antibody (KA2A5.6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HSP 40-4 protein of mouse, rat, human, and porcine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-HSP 40-4 antibody (KA2A5.6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HSP 40-4, also known as HDJ2, plays a crucial role as a co-chaperone in the protein folding process, particularly in its interaction with HSP 70 molecular chaperones. This interaction is vital for maintaining cellular protein homeostasis and facilitating mitochondrial protein import, which is essential for proper cellular function and energy metabolism. A cysteine-rich zinc finger domain in HSP 40-4 enables redox sensing capabilities, responding to the oxidative state of the cell and regulating chaperone activity accordingly. Disruption of HSP 40-4 function can lead to significant cellular stress and has been implicated in severe defects in spermatogenesis, highlighting its importance in reproductive health. HSP 40-4′s interaction with the cellular redox enzyme thioredoxin further underscores its role in the dynamic regulation of protein folding and function in response to changing cellular environments.
