SEE ALSO...

HP1β Antibody (4D7B8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HP1 beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HP1β antibody (4D7B8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HP1 beta protein plays a crucial role in heterochromatin formation and maintenance, essential for regulating gene expression and maintaining genomic stability. Heterochromatin is characterized by densely packed structure, which limits access to transcription machinery, thereby silencing gene expression in these regions. HP1β interaction with chromatin assembly factor-1 (CAF-1) facilitates newly synthesized histone deposition into chromatin during DNA replication. This process ensures accurate genetic material replication and proper organization, critical for cell division and prevention of genomic instability. Dynamic association of HP1 proteins with chromatin during cell cycle, particularly reassociation at mitosis end, underscores their importance in maintaining chromatin architecture and function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from an excellent antibody for both WB and IFThis antibody generates a clean and strong signal at the expected molecular weight (1:500 dilution, 40 ug of HeLa lysate). It also works well for IF in formaldehyde-fixed HeLa cells (1:200 dilution).
