SEE ALSO...

HIV-1 gp41 Antibody (10E9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HIV-1 gp41 protein of HIV-1 origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-HIV-1 gp41 antibody (10E9) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. HIV-1 gp41 plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle, particularly in the fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell membrane, which is essential for viral entry into target cells. This process allows the virus to infect key immune cells, such as CD4+ T cells, which are critical for orchestrating the immune response. By facilitating the entry of HIV-1 into these cells, gp41 contributes to the virus′s ability to evade the immune system and establish a persistent infection, ultimately leading to the development of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Understanding HIV-1 gp41 function is important for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at blocking viral entry and preventing the progression of HIV infection.
