Histone H4 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that targets the highly conserved histone H4 protein, recognizing an epitope between amino acids 7-103 of the human form. Anti-histone H4 antibody (F-9) reacts with histone H4 across multiple species, including human, mouse, rat, avian, and other species such as equine, canine, bovine, and porcine, and is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Histone H4 is one of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) essential for the formation of nucleosomes, which are fundamental units of chromatin structure in eukaryotic cells. Histone H4, along with the other core histones, helps package DNA into nucleosome particles, facilitating the organization of chromosomal fiber and regulating gene expression.
