HGTD-P Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects HGTD-P in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HGTD-P, also known as E2IG5 or FAM162A, is a 154 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role as a proapoptotic factor, particularly in hypoxia-ischemia (HI). HGTD-P is primarily localized to mitochondria, where HGTD-P is instrumental in mediating cell death pathways. HGTD-P′s mitochondrial localization enables induction of mitochondrial permeability transition, a critical event leading to cytochrome c release and subsequent activation of caspase 9, facilitating apoptotic cell death. HGTD-P is regulated by hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α), which binds to a hypoxia-responsive element in HGTD-P promoter, highlighting HGTD-P′s role in cellular responses to low oxygen conditions. HGTD-P (E-8) antibody serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating mechanisms of apoptosis and potential therapeutic targets for HI-induced brain damage.
