HES1 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HES1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HES1 antibody (A-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HES1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of myogenesis and neurogenesis, functioning as a transcriptional repressor within the Notch signaling pathway. This pathway is essential for proper cell differentiation and development, particularly during embryogenesis, where HES1 helps control segmentation and neural development. HES1, along with its family members, forms a complex with TLE proteins, which are the mammalian homologs of the Drosophila groucho proteins. This interaction is mediated by the carboxy-terminal WRPW motif of the HES proteins, allowing the HES/TLE complex to bind directly to DNA and regulate gene expression without interfering with activator proteins. Notably, HES1 and HES5 preferentially bind to the N box (CACNAG) rather than the E box (CANNTG), highlighting their specific regulatory roles. HES1 and HES2 are expressed in a variety of adult and embryonic tissues, underscoring their importance in developmental processes and potential implications in various diseases.
