Herc2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Herc2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Herc2 antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Herc2, also known as hect domain and RLD 2, jdf2, p528, or SHEP1, is a large protein consisting of 4,834 amino acids and features several functional domains such as WD repeats, RCC1 repeats, HECT domains, and ZZ-type zinc fingers. Herc2 plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, functioning primarily as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Herc2 facilitates the transfer of ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme to specific substrate proteins, marking them for degradation. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating protein levels and removing damaged or misfolded proteins. Additionally, variations in the Herc2 gene have been linked to skin, hair, and eye pigmentation variability, highlighting its significance in phenotypic diversity.
