SEE ALSO...

HePTP Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HePTP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-HePTP antibody (E-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hematopoietic protein tyrosine phosphatase (HePTP) plays a crucial role in regulating cellular signaling pathways, particularly in T cells, where HePTP modulates the activation of the T cell receptor (TCR) and downstream mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways. This regulation is vital for maintaining proper immune responses, as overexpression of HePTP can inhibit TCR-induced activation of ERK 2, thereby influencing T cell proliferation and differentiation. The gene encoding HePTP, located on chromosome 1q32.1, is frequently mutated in preleukemic myeloproliferative diseases, highlighting HePTP′s potential involvement in oncogenic processes. HePTP is predominantly expressed in the thymus, spleen, and various leukemic cell lines, including Jurkat T leukemia cells, and HePTP expression is transcriptionally activated in T cells upon stimulation with cytokines such as Interleukin 6. Furthermore, HePTP mRNA levels significantly increase in normal mouse lymphocytes when stimulated with agents like phytohemagglutinin, lipopolysaccharide, concanavalin A, and anti-CD3, underscoring HePTP′s importance in immune cell activation and function.
