Hemoglobin β/γ/δ/ε Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets amino acids 13-46 of human Hemoglobin β, γ, δ, and ε chains, as well as their mouse and rat homologs, including Beta-s, Hbb-b2, and Hbb-y. These globin subunits, also known by their gene symbols HBB (beta), HBG1/HBG2 (gamma), HBD (delta), and HBE1 (epsilon), are essential components of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells. Each hemoglobin molecule is a tetramer composed of two alpha (α) chains and two non-alpha chains (β, γ, δ, or ε), and the specific combination of these chains varies during different developmental stages, influencing oxygen affinity. The combination of these chains determines the type of hemoglobin present, such as HbA (α2β2), HbF (α2γ2), HbA2 (α2δ2), and embryonic hemoglobins like Hb Gower-1 (ζ2ε2). Hemoglobin β/γ/δ/ε (A-8) antibody recognizes multiple hemoglobin subunits, making anti-Hemoglobin β/γ/δ/ε antibody (A-8) valuable for studying hemoglobin synthesis, function, and related disorders such as anemia and hemoglobinopathies. Hemoglobin β/γ/δ/ε (A-8) monoclonal antibody is validated for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), providing versatility for various research applications. By targeting conserved regions across different hemoglobin subunits, Hemoglobin β/γ/δ/ε (A-8) antibody aids in the investigation of oxygen transport mechanisms and the regulation of hemoglobin expression during development and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390668 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not working for flow cytometry assayI recently bought two antibodies, this one and the other one against hemoglobin beta. I tried two different types of fixation: formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde. Both antibodies were not working with glutaraldehyde fixation. However, with formaldehyde fixation, the anti-hemoglobin beta worked nicely, not this antibody. You can see a shift of fluorescence intensity upon adding this antibody but it was just non-specific signal. Any thoughts or suggestion to get it work?
