HDAC11 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody developed against the first 300 amino acids at the N-terminus of the human HDAC11 protein, demonstrating robust reactivity in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assays. HDAC11, also called HD11, is the sole member of class IV histone deacetylases and plays a pivotal role in the regulation of gene expression by removing acetyl groups from histone proteins, leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional repression. This enzymatic activity is crucial for various cellular processes, including differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis, making HDAC11 a key player in maintaining cellular homeostasis and epigenetic regulation. Unlike other HDAC classes, HDAC11 possesses unique structural features that confer specific regulatory functions, including involvement in metabolic pathways and immune response modulation. HDAC11 expression levels are high in vital tissues such as the kidney, heart, brain, skeletal muscle, and testis, where HDAC11 influences tissue-specific gene expression and cellular functions. Using this antibody in WB(8% agarose gel), which one is the right band, about 37kDa or 50kDa?

Thank you for your question. The predicted molecular weight for HDAC11 is approximately 39 kDa. However, we would expect the observed molecular weight to be slightly higher than the predicted molecular weight. Unfortunately, we do not have any references to support a molecular weight as high as 50 kDa. We will review the data using this antibody on our website and make updates very shortly to remove any unsupportive data.

We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. This was the best among HDAC9-10-11-2 antibodies I tried on the same day.
