HCF2 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HCF2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HCF2 antibody (C-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HCF2 plays a crucial role in the herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection process, particularly in the formation of the multiprotein complex necessary for the transcription of immediate-early genes. This complex, which includes the viral transcription factor VP16, Oct-1, and HCF1, is essential for the activation of viral genes that drive the lytic-latent cycle of HSV. HCF2, while homologous to HCF1, is smaller and exhibits a unique binding affinity to VP16, which is influenced by the structural differences in their beta-propeller domains.
