H-Ras Antibody (238) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that specifically targets the H-Ras protein, a member of the Ras family of small GTPases. H-Ras, along with K-Ras and N-Ras, plays a crucial role in regulating signal transduction pathways that control various essential cellular processes, such as cell growth, differentiation, survival, and migration. H-Ras protein functions as a molecular switch by cycling between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state. Activation of H-Ras is mediated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs), while GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) facilitate inactivation by promoting GTP hydrolysis. This regulation is important for maintaining proper cellular function and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation, which can lead to oncogenesis. Aberrant activation of H-Ras due to mutations is frequently associated with cancer, as H-Ras deregulates critical pathways, including the MAP kinase and PI3K/AKT pathways, that influence cell division and apoptosis. H-Ras protein is also associated with specific post-translational modifications such as prenylation, which aids in membrane localization, a crucial aspect of signaling capabilities. H-Ras (238) monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples and is effective in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF).
